Erica is the former Acting Secretary of Transportation for the State of Illinois and was Director of the Department of Illinois Veterans Services. Prior to that she served as a senior staff member for Army Gen. David H. Petraeus during his time as Commanding General of Multi-National Force – Iraq and as head of United States Central Command throughout the Middle East. Erica is a Rhodes Scholar, Truman Scholar and was the valedictorian of her West Point class. She holds postgraduate degrees in comparative social policy and theology from Oxford University..
