The Senior Cost Accountant will report to the Manager of Accounting and Reporting and will maintain responsibility for accounting operations and performing the general ledger close.
Responsibilities
Perform month-end, quarter-end, and year-end accounting closes in a timely manner.
Prepare monthly financial statements, reports, and records via collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information.
Perform monthly balance sheet account reconciliations for various accounts, ensuring accuracy and adherence to GAAP.
Prepare monthly journal entries to general ledger, also readying inventory and cost of goods sold (COGS) analysis.
Assist in preparation and review of flux analysis such as expense analysis, balance sheets, income statements, and other related reports. Assist in investigations and resolving variances as needed.
Prepare support per audit and tax PBC requests in various areas.
Review bank statements, researching and reconciling all discrepancies.
Follow documented internal controls.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, CPA or CMA certification preferred but not required, with at least 3 years’ minimum general ledger experience.
Strong knowledge of US GAAP.
Excellent communication skills. (Verbal, written and listening)
Superior analytical skills with strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.
Proven ability to work to deadlines and tasks to completion with minimal supervision.
Bright, articulate, team player, with a strong work ethic and keen attention to detail; capable of handling multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
