Sr. Electrical Engineer II

The ideal candidate is a hands-on engineer with a passion for electrical systems design and implementation.  He/she should have a mastery over developing electrical system architecture, schematics, choosing and evaluating components, and layouts for mixed analog/digital systems. He/she should also have experience bringing medical products from early concept development through to commercialization.

In this role, you will engage in the entire product development lifecycle, from initial concept through prototyping to commercialization. Your responsibilities will include designing and testing electrical circuits, selecting and integrating components, performing PCBA layout and troubleshooting, and supporting efforts to bring designs through successful compliance testing. Additionally, you will stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends, applying your knowledge to enhance the capabilities of Myomo’s powered platforms.

Key to success in this role are the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, problem-solving skills, and dedication to delivering high-quality electrical solutions that align with Myomo’s commitment to excellence. An integral part of our engineering team, the Sr. Electrical Engineer II will be instrumental in bringing groundbreaking powered robotic exoskeletons to market.

Responsibilities

  • Design medical devices and electronic subsystems to meet the needs of our customers.
  • Lead the electrical system design and manage architecture, circuit design, and performance specifications.
  • Integrate a mixture of analog and digital sensing circuitry with microcontrollers, communication modules, motor control, and feedback circuits into tightly integrated high-performance packages.
  • Design and layout 6+ layer PCBA’s in line with IPC standards
  • Apply requirements-driven design practices with good communication and leadership skills.
  • Work cohesively with mechanical and systems engineers to determine packaging and cabling integrations, thermal management, and sensor integration.
  • Develop bare metal code for basic operational demonstration, and integrate with firmware engineers to optimize system performance.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • BS with 7+ years of Product Development experience. (MS/PhD is desirable)
  • 3+ years of experience in medical devices.
  • In-depth knowledge of circuit design and PCB layout for mixed signal, motion control applications.
  • Knowledge of analog signal filtering and amplification best practices.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Effectively communicate and work cooperatively with others as part of a team.
